Adding a New Medication with an ICD9 Code
- From the right encounter menu, click on Medications.
- Type a medication name in the Drug Name input field.
- From the search result list, select a preferred medication.
- In the medication Indication field, enter an ICD9 code or ICD9 description.
- From the search results, select a preferred ICD9 description.
- Complete the remaining medication information and then click save.
- The ICD9 description will appear under the medication Reason column of the listed medication. Hover the mouse pointer over the Reason description to expand for more details.
- Using the “+” symbol located next to Medications to add new medications will result in loss of features and loss of reason codes. This feature is for re-prescribing long term medications only.
